Why electric?
Design
Our boats are specially designed for electric motors.
The hulls created by our architect Tanguy LE BIHAN are designed to adapt to the boat’s speed and optimise its output.
Our hulls are designed to consume the least possible amount of energy at a working speed of between 6 and 11 knots.
Construction
The hulls and bridges of our boats are constructed using infusion:
- 60% fibre rate (compared with 50% in classic construction)
- Orientated polyester resign and fibre glass fabric
- Cork sandwich with CORECORK (biomaterials)
- Less release of styrene fumes during construction for our workers
Lighter and more solid boats
Batteries
We use four XFC177 pure lead batteries, from ENERSYS (the world leader in drive batteries), chosen for the following reasons:
- Can be partially recharged (opportunity charging)
- Greater discharge depth (80%)
- Closed batteries, completely maintenance-free
- 1200 cycles possible, for a life of six years for 200 days of boating per year
- The battery charger, also from ENERSYS, is on board making it easier to use. Plug in the extension cord, and the charger will automatically see that your batteries are properly cared for.
Recharge
With a classic 220V installation, it takes just three hours to recharge an 80% empty set of batteries.
With a three-phase installation, you cut the recharge time in half: one-and-a-half hours.
